{happy 4th}

Yes, I know the 4th of July was quite a long time ago, but I'm a little behind:) My PL is always a work in progress and I jump around a lot. I'm about to do last week too! I used a lot of different products for this spread, but primarily I used my Scraptastic PL Kit. I love their kits! That "Life sometimes gets messy" stamp is from theirs and I've used it a lot!

So when I first started PL I didn't use design A page protectors. I felt like everyone used those and I wanted to be different:) So now I have a lot of "other" sizes I've been trying to use up because I now see why so many people love that common design A! I have so many 3x4 cards that I just haven't been able to use! I bought a big pack of design A page protectors and I plan on switching over slowly.

This cork board paper was screaming for that dog clip stamp from my Scraptastic kit!

Don't be afraid to use stickers on your photos!! I used up some random Z's for this cute picture:)

If you have memorabilia.... USE IT! It's fun to look back on things like this.

This is probably my favorite card that came in my Scraptastic kit! A few letter stickers for the title and a brad made it perfect.

I love sprinkling enamel dots around, they add so much to the flat design of a card.

I realize this PL spread is VERY colorful! But it was the 4th... I'm allowed;)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy belated 4th:)

{Hey Love!}

So, I love a challenge! It really gets my creative mind flowing and helps me have a jump off point for my pages. I think it's great to be completely creative on your own and not need this, but there are some days when a little inspiration goes a long way! This was one of those days. Studio Calico had a challenge up on their blog by Deb Duty. Her page is amazing so go check it out if you haven't seen it yet! I took her inspiration and came up with this LO.

This picture was a split second of joy! My daughter laid her head on my husband's shoulder and smiled and I had my camera out...SCORE! We were at the fair that night and I wanted the page to be fun. I think with the little bees flying around and the pinwheels I achieved exactly what I wanted:)

Deb took this great paper from the Studio Calico Valley High Card Kit and cut up some of the elements, like these adorable clouds. I decided to try the same thing! I had this cute little cloud flair from Scraptastic and wanted to add it in too. I also used this washi tape from the Marks and Co card kit to add some more black and white to balance things out a bit.

This little stamp set from the Studio Calico Marks and Co Card Kit was so adorable!! I love this little milk bottle and these bees:) For some reason it just screamed "Country Fair" to me so I went with it! These pinwheels are from the same kit and they are so sweet:)

Here I cut out the word "Hey" from that same piece of paper with the clouds. That's exactly what Deb did and I had to scraplift it!

A few finishing details, like mist and enamel dot, and I'm done! I hope you enjoyed this page as much as I did:)

{Happy}

Okay, this is the last LO of my daughter's first birthday;0) I used up most of the Cakewalk collection from October Afternoon, but I have some left for future LO's or birthday cards. This was another of my favorite papers! I love every little character on it and it was hard to cover any of it up, but the LO was too busy without that stripe in the middle.

I left the title simple for one reason.... The chipboard from the Cakewalk collection only came with the word "Happy"! So I went with that. It seemed to sum up the day pretty well too.

This was my attempt at a pocket with confetti! I should have found something a little more clear to use, but this is what I had and I'm okay with it. You can see more of what's inside in person so it works.

This really was the "Snapshot of the day"! Thanks to Elle's Studio monthly kit for adding the perfect sentiment to my picture! The frame is from that same kit too.

Thanks for joining in my excitement of my daughter turning one!!

{Happy Birthday}

So I had a little dilemma this week. My daughter just had her first birthday and I had a bunch of really cute photos except for one thing...the cake! I tried to make my own banana icing and it turned out all runny and so gross looking, lol. I decided in the end to use the photos anyways and just move on. It's not perfect, but kind of a funny memory. I'm wondering, how many people edit what they scrap? Do you scrap even the not so cute stuff? I'm really glad I did because it's true to real life, but I almost didn't!!  Here is my PL spread. No making fun of my cake;)

My daughter's face is priceless in these shots:)

I decided to play along with how gross the cake looked by being a little funny with my title...yum??

I love this stamp I got with one of my PL kits from Scraptastic. It was perfect for these shots of her eating cake:)

I LOVED this month's PL kit from Studio Calico! Those cards are so dreamy:)

I made my own cards using the stamp set in the Studio Calico set and those gorgeous sequins.

I love cutting cards with my craft blade to make them seem 3D. That's what I did with this pink stripe card from my Scraptastic PL kit so the label would lay over the other journaling card.

This card is one of my favorites from the Studio Calico PL Kit!

With this tag that came in the kit instead of using the holes for sewing I used them for brads.

Thanks for stopping by!

{oh so sweet}

Oh Glitter Girl...She is so inspiring! If you haven't watched her latest video then you must! I had this beautiful patterned paper from Crate Paper's the pier and just couldn't figure out how to use it. It was so bold and colorful, I admit I was a little scared of it! In her video Glitter Girl showed how to use the 1/3rd approach with a bold pattern to calm it down. I'm so glad she did! I finally got to use it and I love it! I decided to use more of the pattern than she did, but it works for me.

I also got to pull out some of my frames! Any chance I get to use some of that stash up I will take it:)

Then of course I needed a few butterflies for my little girl and a little gold never hurts;)

{Merci}

I really love how easily this card came together! I used my card kit from Studio Calico. I have to admit I was a little nervous when I saw these butterflies! I mean they are cute, but I just wasn't sure if they looked too young. In the end they have wound up being one of my favorite things in the kit!

I love stitching on a card! It adds that special touch and only takes a minute. While I had my machine out I decided to go ahead and stitch across the butterflies.

At first I just had this little label with the "Thank You" banner, but soon realized it need something more. That's when I grabbed that wide washi tape and it fit perfect behind the label! A little wood veneer arrow tied it all in.

{You and Me}

I just recently got an iphone, I know crazy right?! But I love that thing! I took these pictures at the park yesterday with it. I don't normally carry a camera so having the iphone has given me a great camera right in my pocket! I used the app called "Snapseed" to do a quick edit of these while the kids played and then uploaded them to facebook right from the park. It may not amaze you iphone veterans out there, but my mind was blown! :)

I got right home and printed these two pictures together using HP photo creations. It's free and I LOVE it! I then pulled out my Studio Calico Marks and Co kits and got to work. The star paper is from Fancy Pants and I thought it would make a great border for this WONDERFUL  Amy Tan mist looking paper. I then used the cork hearts and banners from the Salinger add on and it all came together!

A little Freckled Fawn gold arrow added just the right amount of sparkle for me:)

I also elevated the banners using pop dots. I wanted them to float off of the page!

I was inspired by garden girl Shannon Tidewell! She used pop dots so wonderfully in her video "The Season" that I had to pull mine out:)

{This is One}

My little girl turned One recently! I can't believe how times flies! I bought the Cakewalk collection from October Afternoon a while ago and hung on to it just for this day. I LOVE the paper and little characters in this collection. The colors were also perfect to go with this picture of her in her little dress. I don't often buy whole collections but I did this time. It made putting together this LO really fast and easy. Everything went perfect together.

I've decided to start an album this year with LO's from all of our birthdays. I want each page to be titled "This is one", two, three, etc. I even plan on doing a LO on me! Which I have never done, but I want the kids to see me in the albums too. I'm starting this year with, "This is 30!" :)

I really love the little cards October Afternoon does! They are easy to tuck in anywhere.

{Hello Friend}

This card turned out so sweet! I almost want to keep it for myself, but I won't:) The stamp kit from my Studio Calico Valley High card kit is one of my favorites! I like how I can build any flower I want and add any sentiment into the "hello" speech bubble.

I finally used one of these mini clothespins from The Pier and I plan on using them all now, I love how it looks!

This wrap around of twine was actually a happy accident! I got a little of the brown ink under the flower and decided to try and cover it up. I love how it looks:)

{Hello There}

I used gesso on this card to give it texture. I think I used too much because it started to crack, but then I kind of fell in love with that! I used watercolors for the background to give it an ombre look. I love how colorful it all turned out and I hope it brightens the day of it's recipient.

{Sibling Love}

I love watching scrapbook videos!  I watched this Scrap Your Stash video by Garden Girl Paige Evans and was inspired to create something similar! I knew I had a huge stash of brads....I mean it's a little crazy how many I have. When I got back into scrapbooking after being MIA for 9 years all of a sudden brads had beautiful pictures and words on them. So naturally I decided to buy every brad I ever saw. Of course brads are circles so when I saw her video I knew I had to use them up! The resulting LO is probably one of my absolute favorites I've done!

I used my Silhouette to cut the circles in my patterned paper.

It didn't take as long as I thought it might to put all my brads in. I kept the rest of the LO simple so after all that work it was fast to finish.

I also had a collection of older brads from My minds Eye and Bo Bunny
